Pedestrian seriously injured in Spanish Springs crash

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) - UPDATE: Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Pyramid Highway just south of Calle de la Plata in Spanish Springs. It was reported just after 4:30 p.m.

A semi-truck was traveling north on Pyramid when a pedestrian on the east shoulder stepped out to cross the road and was hit, according to Nevada State Police.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries while witnesses and the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Pyramid Highway was closed in both directions for several hours.
